Glitches and Fun Facts
The Devil You Know: Dracula's ace in the hole has always been his ability to alter his form--a magical power afforded to him by the forces of chaos (their purveyor hinted to be the Devil, itself). His alternate forms' depictions never seem to have any specific origin or clear reference and are assumed to be unique specimens. Reader Zead the Undead, though, notes that Dracula's final form is indeed paying homage to Pazuzu, the "King of the Demons," who has apparently been replaced in this regard.
Platform Prowess: Simon's Quest hid its pallette limitations by coloring the enemies differently in order to designate power-level. Dracula's Curse has a more obvious limitation: Because the heroes already have their own assigned colors, there's an overload on certain stages when you have allies. Konami dealt with this by programming the moving platforms to change color according to the character who's currently in play. The same can be said of invincibility potions, which change color convenient for that ally. Additionally, when a character collects an invisibility potion near a moving platform, it, too, will glow like the character. (Contributed by Danny.)
The Clock Tower Time Forgot: As contributor Amar Youkai explains: "Reach the Clock Tower and defeat Grant. Take Grant as your ally and begin to make your way down the tower. Make sure you're playing as Trevor when you reach the first set of stairs going down. Walk slowly down these stairs. Now the tricky part: Press 'Select' to switch to Grant just as Trevor is about to leave the screen. Trevor's feet should be together, at the very bottom of the screen; if done correctly, once he transforms into Grant, he'll automatically walk down onto the next screen. Once there, turn around and go back up the stairs, and just keep walking. You'll be able to keep going up past the stairs and off the screen into a glitched-up area ordinarily not accessed. For some more interesting results, try going back down the stairs one screen, then go back up again. Grant will sometimes be repositioned on the 'invisible stairs' and will be able to go further. This glitch can also be performed on the first stairway going down in Level 3, the Marsh Land, and might work in other such locations."
