Castlevania Advance Collection is a compilation of four classic series games: Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA), Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance (GBA), Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA) and Castlevania: Dracula X (SNES).
This multi-platform digital collection was released on September 23rd, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam, and it's expected that the collection will soon see release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Its price is currently set at $19.99. The package includes North American, European and Japanese versions of the games. It includes, also, a bonus: never-before-seen sketches and artwork from said games.
All four games have been updated to take advantage of advanced features like "rewind." Also, pressing the Z2 trigger during gameplay will bring up a menu that offers some options/tweaks: (1) The "Rewind" function. "Save Replay," which records the action of your current play-through and allows you to re-watch it at any time; you can then replay your recorded via by selecting "Play Replay." (2) "Save," which creates a save-state file that you can restore with (3) "Load"; disappointingly, you can only create a single restore file. (4) "Controls," which brings up a sub-menu that details the game's inputs and allows you to fully customize them. (5) Screen Settings. (6) Sound Settings. (7) Gadget Settings. And (8) Wallpaper Selection. Exclusive to Circle of the Moon is an "Encyclopedia" mode that provides a bestiary, an item list, and a DSS combo guide and in effect brings it up to par, feature-wise, with the series' other action-adventure entries.
