It felt like an eternity going through the darkness. We floated along until we felt we were being pulled down. It almost felt like we were falling. We could see our bodies on the floor. And we ended up slamming back into them. Our journey had come to an end. I was the first to wake up followed by Hayley, Meav, Deidre, Chloe, Lisa, Mairead, and finally Orla. We got up and sat up as we were on the ground of the lobby from earlier.
" Are we home " asked Deidre wistfully
" I think we are '' Orla said
" I don't think I've ever felt so glad to in the real world again " said Hayley
" Or to be home again " said Chloe
Suddenly David Downes and the ladies families came busting through the door to hold and embrace the ladies. I leaned back and smiled. I knew their families must have been worried. I was glad to finally at last see the ladies back with their families but also with David once more. There was no one to reunite with for me. So as they were all embracing and telling of the journey we just took. I walked up a row of steps and glanced out the window. Outside the day had turned to night and the stars were out. Suddenly I heard a voice from behind me. I turned around and looked. And there they were, all 7 of them. Chloe, Hayley, Meav, Mairead, Lisa, Orla, and Deidre.
" What are you 7 doing here " I said with a small smile
" Looking for you '' said Chloe
" You were as big a part of that journey we all took as we were Justin " said Lisa
" We couldn't bare not to say goodbye to you Justin " said Meav
So one by one the 7 of them gave me a gentle hug. We had group hugged after that. We all joined hands on together and looked out the window. An idea on how to end off the journey we had taken together as well as the night together came into my mind.
" You know you 7. I know you're probably tired and all and not wanting to sing right now " I said
" No it's ok, what do you want us to sing to you Justin " said Hayley
" The first song you all ever did that made me become a fan to you all " I said
'' And what would that song be Justin " said Chloe giving me a smile
" On a night like this. It's the perfect atmosphere for " The Soft Goodbye " I said
Lisa led off into the song. Then Meav and Chloe chimed in. And after they did Orla, Deidre, and Hayley came in. Mairead didn't since she only plays the violin. But she put her arm around me and smiled at me since she was next to me. Highlighted by the talents of these wonderful women as they sang beautifully. We all gazed out into the night sky covered in stars.
