Harmony of Dissonance has multiple endings: Three for Juste, each ranging from bad to good; one for Maxim when you play through the regular game after unlocking him; and one for Simon Belmont that's confined to his secret appearance in the game's unlockable "Boss Rush" mode. It's because of the sheer number of screenshots that it takes that I'm using more than one page to cover these endings. (Note: The default page is Juste's worst ending.) Bad Ending

To get this ending, you must defeat Maxim in the heart of Castle B without having the JB and MK bracelets equipped.

Juste finds Maxim in the heart of the castle, and it appears that his good friend has rescued Lydie. While he learns that it was previously true, he's shocked to find out that the Dracula-possessed Maxim has already taken her life in an attempt to take his true form as the Dark Lord. With that in mind, he challenges Juste to a battle, knowing full well of the results: If he wins, it's another sacrifice to ensure his rising; if he loses, Juste has to forever live with taking his friend's life. Eventually, Juste defeats his possessed friend, and the following conversation ensues:

Maxim, unable to come to his senses, turns out to not be as strong mentally as Juste had suspected. Juste can only watch his friend die, taking Dracula's weakened spirit with him. With his two friends slain, Juste can only escape the castle alone.

Juste watches from a mountain cliff as Dracula's castle is pulled back into its netherrealm. Wallowing in the sadness of the death of his two friends, Juste questions himself as a vampire killer. His only consolation is Maxim's bracelet, which he received as a gesture from his friend when they reunited within the walls of the transient castle. (This is actually a hint on how to get a better ending.)

Roll credits.
