Cerberus
This was the
three-headed hound that guarded the outer caverns of the Isle of the Dead.
Cerberus (called "Cerebros" or "Kerebuso" in this game)
uses its agility to jump overhead, spitting a flame along the ground while
in the air. Trying to find a niche between its ground-traveling flame blasts
and its varying jumps is the real challenge. Cerebros is very elusive, so
you'll have to try to get close, too.

This is another take on Cerebros (seen
above), the 3-headed guardian of the Isle of the Dead (Hell), and all of its
attacks involve the use of fire. It has 2 attacks: (1) It spits fireballs
from each head, one after another, simulating the experience of being blasted
with a machine gun, and (2) it raises its heads to the air in a 45-degree
angle and spits a continuous, powerful flame blast, like a flame-thrower,
to prevent you from getting close enough to jump-attack it.
Cerebros is usually a boss, but multiple
versions of the three-headed hound from Hell show up in the Villa in the N64
games as guardians. The cerebroses are fast and powerful, and their strength
lies in their dual and trio attacks. The stronger versions add more power
and speed, while the leader of the pack, the strongest Cerebros, can breathe
heavy flames.

Cerberus appears very early in this
game in a fiery courtyard exited into from the catacombs. Cerberus walks slowly,
drooling onto the ground. While stalking you, it'll either dash at you or
dive overhead using its agility. It has two special attacks, too: (1) It'll
spit out two two fiery spheres that become orbs that blast lightning downward;
the balls move back and forth twice over a Cerberus-protecting range. (2)
It'll jump onto a middle level and send high flames all along the ground--the
top platforms will offer you safe haven during this time.
