The keeper of this hellhole, ol' Mr. P, has been around the gaming scene a long time. As a child of the 80s, I grew up playing my brother's Atari 2600 and Commodore 64 before finally becoming so enveloped in the medium that I began feeling the urge to have a system of my own. Though I had essentially been playing on the NES since 1986 via friends' machines, I didn't know that I needed one until experiencing the video-game perfection known as Mega Man 2, which pushed me over the edge and convinced me to ask my parents to buy me the system. In the decades that followed, I made it a point to delve into any platform on which I could get my hands, eventually blossoming into a born-again video-game historian, ever more passionate about the medium and its history. It seems only appropriate, then, that I should make a list of my personal top 250 video games of all time. "Why 250?" you ask. Simple: 30-plus years of gaming experiences just can't be contained by anything less. Or it was the only way I could get Shadowgate 64 on the list. I'm not sure.
