"Castlevania: Order of Shadows"

Reviewed by Belmont X - 4/4/08

I was excited about this game, to say the least, and I knew it wouldn’t be near as good as the GBA or DS Castlevania titles, but I thought it would at least be worth $7.99. If you want this game after reading this review, you have serious issues.

Story- 3/10.

This is your average CV story. Some cult wants to resurrect Dracula, and a Belmont has to stop them. That is about it.

Graphics- 3/10

Good graphics for a cell phone game, but they could’ve done better. The character sprites don’t look like Castlevania.

Sound- 4/10

Again, average cell phone quality. Most, if not all, of the tracks were from past CV games.

Control- 4/10

It’s easy to control once you get the hang of it, but it takes from 5-10 minutes to get used to. If you are using a num-pad, it would be insanely difficult.

Gameplay/Challenge- 2/10

This is where the game fails. You can unlock and beat every mode within an hour after buying the game. If you’re new, you may die 2-5 times throughout the course of the game on easy mode, 5-7 on hard mode, and you will never die once you unlock unlimited item mode. The length of this game is also a complaint. There are 5 bosses, and Dracula has one form. They should’ve at least let you play as a different character or something. You can reach level 10 in your exp without even trying. Also, Konami Mobile put in way to many sub weapons.

Overall- .5/5 Medusa Heads

It looks like Konami Mobile tried to make this game over their 1 hour lunch break.
