This is definitely
a family member of the dragon--some say a wyvern is a more evolved dragon
or a distant relative of the dragon (see Shadowgate). That might explain
why this particular specimen is not as powerful as you'd suspect a dragon
would be. It can, of course, breathe fire; as it spews flames, each separate
blast will hit the ground and bounce either left and right. The flames are
threatening, yes, but the wyvern's lunging claw attack make its game-plan
predictable. Later on, Shaft will summon its skeletal remains to assist in
his ghostly battle.
