Magic Items
After defeating certain bosses, Nathan Graves can collect eight magical items that afford him special abilities and allow him access to areas that he couldn't reach before. Save for the dash boots, all magical items will be attained after defeating said bosses. Below is the name of the items followed by descriptions.

Shoulder guards
allow Nathan to dash forward, to hurt enemies and break blocks

Kick Boots
|

With these, Nathan
can repeatedly kick-jump off walls to reach higher ground

Heavy Ring
|

This affords Nathan
greater strength, allowing him to push heavy crates out of the way
|
Cleansing
|
By wearing this,
Nathan can by touching it purify the poisonous water within the castle
|
|
Roc Wing
|
This allows Nathan
to execute a super jump; it can be used again and again while he's airborne
|
|
Last Key
|
|
After collecting
this key, Nathan will be able to open the locked door in the Ceremonial
Room

Armor Upgrades/Power-Ups
Nathan can become stronger defensively by collecting arm and hand equipment. In addition to increasing his defense, some items will supply Nathan special abilities--some beneficial and some rendering negative effects--for as long as they're equipped.
