Mega
Man
The original Mega Man became the exception, as it only featured 6 robot bosses before entry into Dr. Wily's castle. Wily's castle was not yet named, so we'll simply refer to it as Wily's Castle; the castle itself features 4 levels of play, which will be listed in exact order, and it'll be separated from the regular robot bosses by a Wily symbol. (Note: DL = Doctor's Log.)
Cut Man DL #003: Cut Man was the first of the creations that Dr. Light and Dr. Wily tried to pattern after their previous efforts. Used primarily as a lumberjack, Cut Man uses the scissor-like blade atop his head to cut through timber and, most certainly, Mega Man. He detaches the blade from his head and whirls it towards his target.
Guts Man DL #004: Perhaps the most powerful of all the robot bosses, Guts Man was made to lift and transport huge boulders. His giant leaps cause the Earth to quake, often causing loose bricks and boulders to fall from ceilings. When he jumps straight up in the air, the resulting quake will cause a loose boulder to fall from the ceiling; he'll catch and fling it toward Mega Man.
Ice Man DL #005: Ice man was created to perform activities in subzero temperatures—activities humans could not perform under those circumstance. Ice Man shoots out icicle-like projectiles, three successively from high to low time; the second barrage is instead low to high. He'll repeat this pattern.
Bomb Man DL #006: Bomb Man's job was to clear land, using his explosive power, for Dr. Light's construction projects. He has great jumping ability, and he'll use it to keep Mega Man guessing; he'll usually avoid close situations. When at a comfortable distance, he'll being throwing his large, powerful bombs--no more than three in succession.
Fire Man DL #007: Using the flame atop his head, his job was to both melt and mold metals--that is, until after being reprogrammed. Fire Man attacks Mega Man by leaning forward and launching walls of fire one afgter aother. Furthermore, at least one of the walls in a set will leave a residual flame that burns for a few seconds. Furthermore, the energy of the fire walls creates a shield around him, protecting him from multiple-hit weapons.
Elec Man DL #008: Like Ice Man, Elec Man was made to perform activities unsafe for humans. In his case, it's electrical experiments and surveying power plants. In order to complete such tasks, he was given the power to shoot electrical beams in 3 directions--up, down and forward--at once. Elec Man often jumps backwards before releasing a beam, which, while it telegraphs the release, doesn't make the effect of the attack any less devastating.
Yellow Devil This is one of Dr. Wily's prize creations. The Yellow Devil transports in by breaking apart and recreating himself once inside. That remains its method of attack, as it'll continue to break apart and reform on the other side of a room. Since its eye is its only weak point, contact can only be made with him when it's in whole form; plus the eye will appear in a different place each time. When it breaks apart, zipping piece-by-piece to the room's other side, Mega Man will have to dodge each of those pieces by jumping accordingly and find a way to get in an attack before the Devil fires its own pellet attack.
Copy Robot Upon entering a chamber, a capsule lid descends upon Mega Man, trapping him while creating a perfect clone. As a clone of Mega Man, he can use the same powers—those collected from the first 6 robot bosses—and has the same moves. His attack scheme is to jump forward or back, uncontrollably, firing only when Mega Man does. He likes to try to trap Mega Man in a corner, where he can overwhelm him with repeated contact jumps.
Bubble Contraption (CWU-01P) It's perhaps the predecessor to Bubble Man, as is often noted. After destroying the first, another contraption appears from any of 3 entrances found on the ceiling and walls. There are seven in all, each faster than the last. No matter which speed, its attack pattern is to circle the room while firing tiny bubble projectiles at timed intervals. Helping Mega Man is four boulders placed in the room's center; each is capable of destroying a single Bubble Contraption in one shot.
Dr. Wily #1 Wily's heavily-armored ship, featuring his little getaway pod placed conveniently on top, has only one weak point—the front-most circular cannon. It's not that simple, as you'd expect, since Mega Man will be busy dodging its arching pellet attacks while trying to get a shot in. The biggest danger, as it is with all of Wily's ships, is bumping into the ship itself; it's better to take the damage from the pellets. Destroying the cannon will alter Wily's ship, and now the real battle will begin.
DR. Wily #2 With his main cannon now gone, Wily's control center is exposed, and he's now forced to use a damaged pipeline to fire out these strange rotating circular energy pellets. Since the cannon is no more, the new weak point of the ship is that purple orb above the severed pipeline.
