Mega Man X stages

 

Mega Man X:

  1. Intro Stage- The highway is in ruin from the Maverick attack as the people flee the city. This stage features helicopter attacks and falling sections of road Boss: Vile (Can't be defeated)
  2. Chill Penguin- Icy arctic-type stage with snowy obstacles, including robots that throw snowballs. Boss: Chill Penguin (5)
  3. Spark Mandrill- Power station with electricity running through the floors. Portions of the stage feature power-outages. Boss: Spark Mandrill (9)
  4. Armored Armadillo- Series or recently dug underground caverns. Features riding across parts of the stage in flat mine carts. Boss: Armored Armadillo (6)
  5. Launch Octopus- Underwater stage containing typical water enemies, upward currents leading to a bombing vessel, and giant seaworms. Boss: Launch Octopus (8)
  6. Boomer Kuwanger- Tall weather tower that requires lots of upward climbing; contains instances of riding up lifts. Boss: Boomer Kuwanger (9)
  7. Sting Chameleon- Deep in the forest where many camouflaging enemies lurk. Contains some small ponds, tunnels with falling rocks, and swamps. Boss: Sting Chameleon (8)
  8. Storm Eagle- Airport where the Maverick goods are being transported by plane. X must make his way over the airport, over a series of floating platforms and onto a plane containing the boss. Boss: Storm Eagle (6)
  9. Flame Mammoth- Industrial building where metals are melted and molded for use on the reploid-making assembly line. Boss: Flame Mammoth (8)
  10. Sigma's Fortress Stage #1- From the outside of the castle to the inside, X must enter by jumping from moving platforms. Some climbing must be done inside before a battle with Vile (7). Moving on, the castle security system blocks the way before the boss. Boss: Track Spider (9)
  11. Sigma's Fortress Stage #2- Stage featuring platforms that move along a track; also, two of the first two Maverick bosses can be found. Boss: Room Attack (9)
  12. Sigma's Fortress Stage #3- Stage divided accordingly to accommodate the six remaining clones of the Maverick bosses. Boss: Hover Tank (8)
  13. Sigma's Fortress Stage #4- Long climb up a vertical shaft to get to Sigma. Boss: Sigma's Dog (7), Sigma Body #1 (8) and Sigma Body #2 (10)

Mega Man X2:

  1. Intro Stage- The new Maverick production factory, featuring Mavericks right off the assembly line; also, has walls that close-in quickly. Boss: Giant Maverick (3)
  2. Wire Sponge- A weather-control station with orbs that change the weather from torrent rain or extreme sun. Boss: Wire Sponge (8)
  3. Morph Moth- A robot junkyard where remains of Mavericks attack. Magnetic field runs through the ceiling, pulling particles upward. Boss: Morph Moth (6)
  4. Flame Stag-A volcanic zone containing rising beds of lava, platforms that sink into the magma, and deadly pipe leakage that fire robots try to ignite. Boss: Flame Stag (9)
  5. Magna Centipede- The Maverick's central computer system; contains a heavy security system and traps where blocks fall, move and try to crush X Latter part of the stage has a defense tracker that alerts the mid-boss to X's weaknesses. Boss: Magna Centipede (7)
  6. Overdrive Ostrich- A desert base with areas where bike-riding is optional. Heavy sandstorms comprise the latter half of the stage. A rocket is ridden upward to face the boss. Boss: Overdrive Ostrich (9)
  7. Bubble Crab- Deep-sea base that must be entered by getting by the guarding cargo ship with a penetrating laser. Electrical sea-like enemies inhabit the area. Boss: Bubble Crab (8)
  8. Wheel Gator- Getting from the outside to the inside of a Dinosaur Tank that's rampaging through the city; contains directional platforms and traveling on the hatch of the tank with robot ride armor. Boss: Wheel Gator (7)
  9. Crystal Snail- The Maverick's crystal mine containing the Energen Crystal power supply; contains dangerous slides down icy slopes and giant crushing slabs of ice. Boss: Crystal Snail (8)
  10. Maverick Hideout Stage #1- First stage of their mountain-based hideout; contains closing walls and long spike gaps. Boss: Violen (8)
  11. Maverick Hideout Stage #2- Stage mostly under water, containing the hideout's reactor. The biggest danger is riding over spikes on moving vertical platforms. Boss: Serges (9)
  12. Maverick Hideout Stage #3- Stage with dangerous lifts and more directional platforms; has a split path, both leading to long spike gaps where the Speed Burner must be utilized to dash over them. Boss: Agile (8)
  13. Maverick Hideout Stage #4- Eight capsules containing clones of the original eight Mavericks. Boss: No boss.
  14. Maverick Hideout Stage #5- It's actually back at Magna Centipede's stage, only going to the midway point before the battle with the bosses. Boss: Fake Zero (9 [only if you haven't collected Zero's parts]), Sigma Body #1 (8) and Neo Sigma (8)

Mega Man X3:

  1. Intro Stage- Short trek through the invaded Cain labs, the target of Doppler's new Maverick outbreak. Boss: Giant Maverick (4)
  2. Blast Hornet- A Maverick artillery base featuring treadmill-like platforms. Boss: Blast Hornet (7)
  3. Blizzard Buffalo- An Icy highway that leads to Doppler Town's main power generator. Latter half of the stage is snowy. Boss: Blizzard Buffalo (7)
  4. Gravity Beetle- Maverick air base where X must battle across a rocket launch pad before riding a lift into a Maverick plane. Boss: Gravity Beetle (8)
  5. Toxis Seahorse- Doppler Town's underground drainage system where X must traverse through sewage; the latter part of the stage features some underwater travel. Boss: Toxic Seahorse (6)
  6. Volt Catfish- Doppler Town's computer center guarded by a heavy security system. Riding platforms upward is essential. Boss: Volt Catfish (7)
  7. Crush Crawfish- Seaside construction area with underground tunnels. The venture leads to a Maverick submarine base. Boss: Crush Crawfish (8)
  8. Tunnel Rhino- An underground crystal mine that acts as an energy source; features falling rocks and dirt patches that fall from the pipe system, forcing X downward. Boss: Tunnel Rhino (7)
  9. Neon Tiger- A forest base inhabited by wildlife-type enemies; contains mosquito platforms and spike-creating ground reploids. Boss: Neon Tiger (9)
  10. Doppler Lab Stage #1- The basement scrap heap containing such dangers as lowering spike-lined ceilings and closing walls. Zero assists X against the mid-boss. Boss: Bit and Byte combined (9)
  11. Doppler Lab Stage #2- The very top of the neglected tower, looking out over the stormy countryside. Contains long jumps necessitating the use of robot ride armor; also, a long trek upward through spike-lined walls must be made by climbing on slow-moving, platform-headed robots. Boss: Vile in robot ride armor (4) and Vile (8)
  12. Doppler Lab Stage #3- Short stage leading to eight capsules that contain clones of the original eight Mavericks. After defeating them, another short area leads to the boss. Boss: Dr. Doppler (8)
  13. Doppler Lab Stage #4- Underground hangar with minimum security. This short stage leads to the game's final boss. Boss: Sigma Body #1 (9) and Sigma Body #2 (10)

Mega Man X4:

  1. Intro Stage- Short trek through the Sky Lagoon, where a giant Maverick is attacking. Magma Dragoon is accessing the damage. Back on the ground, X travels through the destroyed city, with falling rocks and collapsing floors. Boss: Giant Maverick (5)
  2. Web Spider- The jungle where Repliforce's ultimate weapon is under construction. Includes intense waterfalls, jumping on logs, and working your way around trees and other forest life. Boss: Web Spider (7)
  3. Repliforce Ground Base- Defeating any two of the Mavericks will bring you here before you can continue on; its purpose is a short battle with the Colonel. Boss: Colonel (8)
  4. Cyber Peacock- Cyber space, featuring several trials to test speed. Hidden rooms are accessed by getting a "S" on a given trial; "A" allows regular access, while "B" makes X take the trial again. Latter half of the stage features a reversing room. Boss: Cyber Peacock (8)
  5. Storm Owl- Stage where X gives chase to a Repliforce ship that has taken off; his mission is to blast it out of the air. To access the ship, a strong defense system must be dealt with. Boss: Storm Owl (8)
  6. Magma Dragoon- An unstable volcanic area containing geyser-like magma blasts, falling and raising fireballs, and managing long beds of lava. Boss: Magma Dragoon (9)
  7. Jet Stingray- This stage is the pursuing the Mavericks on a land chaser; a hover bike is used to chase them through a ventilation system, then through their water base. Boss: Jet Stingray (8)
  8. Split Mushroom- An abandoned lab now operational, X needing to destroy it. Has several instances of climbing up long spiral stairs. Other dangers include pairs of spike clamps that try to crush X and vertical lifts. Boss: Split Mushroom (8)
  9. Slash Beast- A military train moving Repliforce supplies. X must jump from section to section, as small reploids blow up the hatches connecting the train. It leads to a station, onto another train where the boss awaits. Boss: Slash Beast (9)
  10. Frost Walrus- A Repliforce snow base, where further creation of their weapon is taking place. Contains dangerous ice slides, quick-forming ice platforms, and lots of snow. Latter half of the stage has frozen blocks that must be blasted through, some containing frozen enemies. Some robots freeze entire sections of the stage. Boss: Frost Walrus (5)
  11. Repliforce Air Base Stage #1- From the outside of the ship to the inside, featuring clusters of minor enemies. Boss: Colonel (8)
  12. Repliforce Air Base Stage #2- Inside the complex awaits one of two bosses. [If playing as X] Boss: Double (8) [If playing as Zero] Boss: Iris (9)
  13. Repliforce Air Base Stage #3- Short stage with eight capsules containing the original eight Mavericks. Boss: Death Sigma (7), Sigma Body #2 (9), Sigma Bodies #3 and #4 (10)

Mega Man X5:

  1. Mattrex- An unstable rocky, volcanic area where lava courses through sections of the stage at timed intervals. Other lava traps are all around. Boss: Mattrex (8)
  2. Grizzly Slash- You start by jumping from one transporting truck to another. When you come upon land, a short cave leads to the boss. Boss: Grizzly Slash (7)
  3. Squid Adler- First you'll ride on a Ride Chaser, where you'll have to jump fast and blow up walls. The rest of the stage requires shooting 2-pronged switches, often located far apart, to get through openings. Boss: Squid Adler (8)
  4. Izzy Glow- This is a well-protected fortress. Once inside, you'll travel up a stairwell and battle a sentry mid-boss. The final area is within the defense system, where you'll have to climb walls while being attacked by security capsules. Boss: Izzy Glow (6)
  5. Duff McWhale- This whole stage is a battle with a Maverick shipthe U-555. You'll battle its front, back and top as the screen scrolls accordingly. Boss: Duff McWhale (6)
  6. The Skiver- The Repl-Airforce base where bombs are set all over the place; the latter part of the stage includes riding lifts up, down and diagonally. Boss: The Skiver (7)
  7. Axle the Red- A long jungle with deadly plant life; vines and ropes must be traversed while fighting spiked roses and robotic insects. Boss: Axle the Red (8)
  8. Dark Dizzy- This is a planetarium where everything is made to go slower. Later on, gravity must be switched around to walk on bot the ceiling and floor. Boss: Dark Dizzy (7)
  9. Sigma Complex Stage 1- Cosmic area loaded with enemies and numerous laser traps (reminiscent of Quick Man's stage from Mega Man 2). Boss: Rock Monster (9)
  10. Sigma Complex Stage 2- Another cosmic area crammed with enemies, this time with many difficult spike-lined traps. Boss: Room Attack: (9)
  11. Sigma Complex Stage 3- Yet another cosmic area, this time with dangerous jumps from moving/falling platforms and more spike traps. [If playing as X] Boss: Zero (8) [If playing as Zero] Boss: X (7)
  12. Sigma Complex Stage 4- More of the same, with many rolling mines and deadly spinning triangles. Disappearing-reappearing blocks must be used to go forward; 8 capsules with the first 8 Mavericks will be found here, too. Boss: Sigma Body #1 (9) and Sigma Body #2 (9)
